On Wednesday 17th June 2009 sculptor Manolo Caba, invited to Broadbottom by the District Assembly, opened his sculpture ‘Acogida’ (Friendship) at Catnip Park, Broadbottom. Broadbottoms 3rd Village Show on Saturday 28 June proved to be as popular as ever with a high number of entries particularly in the children’s section. Prizes and awards were presented in the afternoon for the show entries, the duck race and the scarecrow competition.
This years show attracted over 200 entries in a wide variety of classes. The Judges remarked on the high quality of entries and the imaginative and original ideas.
